iMovieHD

My first attempt at using iMovieHD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJhr6UcMsS4

So this was an interesting first try. All of the pictures I used here are my own photography, taken of my mini Koi pond back at home in California. Their names are Pants, Oreo, Dash, Blackie, Alana, and 'The Gang'. Yes. I name my fish.

The first step was learning how to use the Ken Burns effect. A basic trial and error procedure. I was entertained by how it gave my photographs motion, and it was especially cool with the motion that was already in the pictures. But I also wondered about the integrity of my pictures, were they not meant to be stills? Is adding more motion to them what I want? Hm. Still undecided.

I wish I had had the skills to line up the effects more properly with the music, 'Fish Are Jumping' but perhaps that will be the next step in this little films progression.

Thanks for sharing your movie with us, but now you can use text to share the process which is some ways for this class is even more important than the creative object. I am, of course, exaggerating, but as a graduate student you should explore and reflect upon your work in multiple modes of response.

You really need to be writing regularly in your Blog as well as reading and commenting on the Blogs of your colleagues. I hope you won't fall behind, because it is the ongoing engagement of ideas that develops insight into your own process.
